GDC Global Ambassadors Needed to Teach Deaf Adults in Kingston, Jamaica!
Global Deaf Connection (GDC) in collaboration with Jamaica Association of the Deaf (JAD) and United Agency for International Development (UASID) initiated a unique academic program, known as the Fast Track Program. The Fast Track Program is an intensive literacy program with the goal of teaching English reading and writing skills to up to 30 Deaf adults in Jamaica. In order to enter college or attend a teacher training program, Deaf students must pass an entrance exam. The Fast Track Program aims to help more Deaf adults get into college and to put more Deaf teachers in Deaf schools all over Jamaica. By placing Deaf teachers in Deaf schools, Deaf children will have role models and teachers who can communicate in their native language-Jamaican Sign Language and learn!

The tentative dates are July 14-August 15th. World Endeavors will also help answer any questions you may have regarding the Fast Track Program and trip logistics.
